Did some calculations and started on the rear chassis Hmm, not sure about the single wheel at the back either I was hoping to use the rear wheel holder off the landrover it's self to give the chassis a bit of strength but it narrows the inside down to much.

Thanks for coming up with the two landrover wheels Nick, I was wondering whether to have it as three axles six wheels (like the landrover fire trucks we had in the RAF) or two axles six wheels? Having played about with the wheels and seeing as it's going to be similar to the Bedford housetruck I'm doing I think three axles would look too modern so decision made and two it is. Dave

Hi all, worked out how to attach the rear to the front of the landy and put glue to plastic so to speak the joint seems a little weak so hopefully if I glue a floor top and bottom of the framework that should beef it up enough? The axle supports aren't very scale like but unless wallace rolls it going round a bend to fast no one should notice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next job is to sort out the back of the cab. Dave

Had a go at making good the back of the cab. Didn't come out to bad , but can still see a bit of grain in the balsa corner posts must of rubbed them down too much. And last one is the overall view of the cab joined to the rear chassis, I'm going to leave them as seperate items for now so hopefully that will make them easier to work on. If you check out the 1st picture of the sprayed cab you'll see three bits of box section glued to the floor and the chassis plugs into them. Dave

This could turn out to be a major build, I forsee lots of shingles being cut and being hung with tiny nails.

;D Hi Nick, wheels came this morning thanks very much. I'll get this set of nights out of the way and see about measuring up the rear body. I am going to base it on the Bedford as I think the idea is okay, taking the easy way out though as the dolls house shop sells bags of tiles already cut to size. (Didn't see any small hammers though!!)

Did a mock up of the rear body to see what it looks like before cutting plastic, I don't think I'll keep the staggered roof on this one, I'll make it a straight edge right across which should make the roof easier. Dave

That's the Landrover reboxed then ... ;D It didn't sell Nick, I think people preferred the original boxing!! A 1 to 1 scale Triumph rebuild has got in the way a bit so I'll do a couple of days on it this four off. First up a kit of parts s1183.photobucket.com/albums/x468/littledave2/?action=view¤t=P1010166.jpgCut out the windows and doors and tape it together to see what we have Don't think the chassis is joint is going to hold out!!!! Strange how it didn't sag when done in cardboard, can't wait to get all the tiles on!! Never mind size , does the table have a weight limit? Only kidding the chassis and landrover aren't joined together yet in case I need to do some alterations, don't know whether to put another window in the left side or leave it as it is? Any thoughts? Dave

Maybe tie a few balloons on the roof? ... this is a bit of a major build Dave. ;D Hmm, wonder if I can get any in scale??? ;D Before I went to work this morning I joined the front and back together, tonight I'll mock up the rear onto the chassis and add a few bits of lead also and see if it holds up without bending, I'll put some photo's on when I get back from work tomorrow. Fingers crossed Dave
