2011, the theme is 'The Olympics'. The build will begin on December 25th 2010 and run until the weekend of SMW 2011. All models will be displayed at SMW 2011 on the 'Beyond the Box' SIG table(s). If you would like to join in this lunacy, please enrol in the usual way by sending an email to:

or via PM from this board. The Olympics has many disciplines including archery, swimming, athletics, rowing to name just a few. There are a couple of rules which have to be observed, yes, as usual, there have to be rules ...
(1) The model or diorama must be your own work.
(2) You must use at least 1 Aardman / Airfix figure, either converted or built from the box to depict an Olympic athlete. You may also use any of the Aardman / Airfix vehicles.
(3) You may produce up to 5 builds for the display.
(4) Enjoy the experience.
Due to possible constraints on table space allocation by the SMW manager and to ensure that we use the space we have to the best advantage, the maximum base size for exhibits for will be 16 x 12.
