I was searching t'interweb recently for information on a couple of items and I found this ... ... it's an Austin Champ fire tender, built for use on airfields ... So, as Howard Whitehead of KFS has a 1/24 Austin Champ in his catalogue, I thought why not? ... Austin Champ ordered and delivered in under 24 hours. I need to find a few more details and study the vehicle in question but I think this build could soon be underway!

I've had the KFS Austin Champ and Italeri Fire Jeep taped together ever since the Champ was issued. Now you've provided pictures of real ones, I don't have an excuse for making my own assumptions and getting it wrong. What did you do that for?

Seriously, thanks for the second advert. The first one mentioned a trailer, and I was going to ask about it. Also, the second Champ has a different equipment configuration, so maybe there is some flexibility available to modellers.

Lots of useful info there. The Cornwall article gives the impression that their vehicle was custom built, rather than the commercially-available Firefly; that may be just an uninformed journalist, but it would open up possibilities for 'field conversions'. Why is it being driven by Capt Mainwaring?
