Excellent afternoon in the workshop. I wanted to find a use for the big hand, well, auto pilot has been installed. I'm working on installing a headlight at the moment, that's proving a bit tricky at the moment so I'll slip back into the workshop after tea and maybe take a couple of pics? ... or should I be really horrid and just place it on the table at Huddersfield?

Some of us can't get to Huddersfield .... I'll update the thread after the show c/w photographs, I promise ... then I think the Dakar Landrover deserves to be resurrected!

I've had the chance today to photograph the build (I also did a little last minute tinkering, well you knew I would). So, for those of you not able to visit Huddersfield this weekend, here's the final build pics ... ... the big handles at the back are racks which hold the sack for the presents, unfortunately they're with the seamstress having a few slight modifications made to the draw strings at the top and are not available for the photographs! ... as you know I like to use the big hand whenever I can and this build was no exception, here's the auto pilot ... ... apart from the hand I used the gear lever from the A35 van. One of the last minute tinkering modifications was the colouring for the fuel spill ... ... I used Woodland Scenics liquid water but coloured it using Vallejo red and orange. On another of the tinkering sessions I built a valve for the fuel filler ... ... you may recognise the gear lever from the Landrover, well, that particular build doesn't require a gear lever, just follow the link for that build: beyondtheboxsig.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2013&action=display&thread=148&page=1I've really enjoyed this and I could leave it on the bench adding bits and pieces as I think of them, but enough is enough and it has to end somewhere. Time to find a box for it and pack it up for Huddersfield. Hang on a moment, I've forgotten to add a master switch ...
