Return of the Doggy

This build is a variation of R2D2, it will have Gromit inside controlling the driod or Wallace tinkering with the driod.....

here is where im at so far.....

I took a trip to Maplins and they ran out of 3-D images projectors and flux capacitors, the guy in the shop looked at me "gone out!"...




I had them get all these Leds out to see and measure, quite funny really as he asked what i wanted them for, he seemed quite confused when i told them they were for an 8" R2-D2 been driven by a Gromit.....

If you look at the last picture, can you see the red mark on my thumb nail.

That is a hole that has gone straight though the nail into my thumb, kinda stabed my self with a sharp braddle, now i dont know if any of you guys have ever done the same.

Let me tell you it really really hurts

No smoke machine this time.....

added the interior of the driod lots of pipes and boxes/computer stuff, i'll add the wires after its painted fully.

Just in primer now...

After an hour and a half I have managed to mask up his head....

Once ive painted the body blue i will have to mask that too....



So the droids head is virtually painted, and the diagnostic box built and painted.

and tonight i have painted the droids body white after masking it.

Still got the legs to mask and paint, but you can get the gist of the idear... ;D

Well I had a little misshap! i got some super glue on the lid of the driod.... so i ended up with a very dull rough patch on the shinny chome head....


So i decided to give the droid a little bit of grim, the weathered look. and where the worst roughness was i added a "lazer" burn hole.

All done and complete.
