For the past 10 years or so I've been visiting the 'War and Peace' show at Beltring in Kent. I've just returned from this year's little event and I have a special build in mind. We take the caravan and one one of the officials at the show has always looked after us and he's become very interested in Wallace and Gromit. This year because of the lousy weather conditions he's been riding around the event in a beaten up old Landrover, so I've decided to build something special and present him with a little present next year. More news shortly ...

Well here's the Landrover which is the subject of the build ... ... it'll be getting the 'Beyond the Box' treatment in time for the 'War and Peace' show at Beltring in 2013. Just got to clear the bench and I can pull out the kit.

Here we go ... I've pulled out a spare Landrover body just to check over the changes to be made ... ... and it looks like one of the first changes will be to the front side lights and indicators from their horizontal attitude to vertical. I have about twelve months to build this model so I'm not going to rush it, it will be brought out in between other builds. So, time to blank off those holes ...

Well, I thought seeing as though it was on the bench, why not? First stage was to punch out 4 circles of plastic card to fill the location holes for the front side lights and indicators ... ... I used a very handy punch set which has been sitting in my tool box just in case! Next step was to fill what was left with a little modelling filler ... ... I'll let that cure over night and then have a little sanding therapy.
